To start I'll give you a brief overview of what you'll need to successfully launch and recover a weather balloon.
- Time - Anywhere from 5-10 hours of preparations and assembly time. This doesn't include the time it takes to launch and recover a balloon and it's payload!
- Money - Materials (helium, latex balloon, tracking devices, etc.) can be expensive and may range from 100-500 dollars depending on the options you select.
- A Team - Like with any project its best to work as a team, and making an observation balloon is no different! You'll need people to help you achieve your goal.
- Dedication - If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again! Things don't always go as planned, so don't get discouraged!
